When I first moved to Manila, the thought of owning property here never crossed my mind. After learning a bit more about the housing market here, as well as seeing the benefit of owning vs. renting, I decided to take the plunge.

Looking back, it was a pretty straightforward process that can be divided into three parts: shopping, waiting (and securing financing), and finally, closing the deal/moving in). While the entire experience took almost two years, most of that was waiting for the actual building construction to finish. It was a great experience, and I have no regrets on my decision to own additional property here in the Philippines.
